Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road

Pants: The Story Of   |   Necklace: Recreational   |   Peace Ring: LowLuv @ Love Of Eos   |   Shoes: Betts   |   Belt: Mink Pink @ Market HQ   |   Bag: Vintage from Mum

I owe the comfort and style of my entire trip to LA & New York to these pants. I'm not sure if I actually took them off... They saw the Empire State building, a plane (actually 2 planes), the recording studio in Hollywood and made it into a video interview in NYC (watch it here). And then made an appearance at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia - seen here in Sydney once I arrived back down under.

Yes, I washed them. And no, they aren't made to be worn rolled up or high waisted - I just hitched them up with a few minor adjustments with my fave red studded belt by Mink Pink (which also conveniently doubles as mega awesome wrist junk - seen here).

The Blesse'd Are The Meek show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia absolutely stole the spotlight for the whole week for me. It was one of those love at first sight moments that tingles through your veins and charms your heart into skipping a beat. The moment Bjork began cooing through the theatre and blue lazer lights created waves of cloud-like imagery throughout the room was a truly goose-bump inducing scene.

The collection itself was just as impressive as the showcase - filled with intriguing cuts, floating silhouettes, and a sense that everything could be layered together. After the pastels and zippers made their debut we were treated to rich purples, blacks and the incredible signature print on white - showcasing the Aztec aesthetic that Blesse'd Are The Meek are renowned for. (Not to mention the styling of gold sequin shorts and chain / belt accessories that yours truly has a penchant for - I was sold instantly!)

The whole experience just felt like some kind of galaxy voyage to the sequined, lacey, crotched planet BATM -here's a tiny little iPhone look at what I saw.
