There's some big changes coming into the flow of my life over the next few months and one of the major things to enter my life (even more so) is travel. And a LOT of it. So during my recent national tour of Australia with my music, I began making some notes on what works, style-wise. So, here's a few little tips to get you started when you're thinking about your summer road trips ahead!

Tip number 1 for the wandering Gypset Goddess?
Get your hands on a copy of Gypset Style and also Gypset Travel by  if just for the inspiration!

Tip number 2... Always wear your bathers.
Bikinis. Togs. One piece. Two piece. Swimmers. If you're heading on a coastal trip, it's inevitable that you'll find a beach at some point, or just a bit of sun - and the most important thing to keep your traveller's glow is to get a little Vitamin D.

Tip number 3... If you choose a fringed bikini top (as pictured) it can double as a top so you can save on packing space, and not worry about leaving watery-boob marks on your top! Hehe.

Tip number 4 is all about effortless style. A maxi skirt goes a long way because it can double as a dress if you pull it up over your chest - throw on a belt and you've got a two-in-one piece.

Tip number 5... Instead of a pair of plain Havianna's or old thongs (flip-flops), choose a pair of gorgeous strappy flats that will have you feeling beautiful no matter if it's breakfast, lunch or a dinner date you're dressing for. It would be wise to invest in something you'd be happy wearing everyday and every night, so be prepared to spend.

Olive & Sparkle

I'm getting a little obsessed with olive green at the moment. Tops, dresses, skirts, shirts... Whatever - you name it, I love it. If it's paired with summer bronzed skin, dirty golden accessories and bright peach coloured lips, I'll be losing my sh*t. I dream about it. Maxi skirts and sequined sloppy joes... Gypsy meets Rock n Roll meets old school glamour. Nothing more to be said.
Olive. I'm calling it.

Mustard Maxi Lovin'

Bummer Poncho (UNIF EXCLUSIVE)    |    Cotton On Fringe bag / House of Harlow 1960 Necklace,  Wildfox Couture Sunglasses , $230 / Frends Gold Taylor Headphones

It's official, the 70's are back in all their bohemian-rock-n-roll-cocaine-lovin-glory. I, for one, have been tilting my excessively over-sized hat to the 1970's since way back in the naughties... And now that it's beginning to rain here in the land down under, my large-brimmed head-gear can double as a bad-hair-day cover up and umbrella all in one, whilst still remaining in vogue. Phew!

It's way too cold to take photos outside today so I've been playing dress-ups on Polyvore which, you may have realised by now, is one of my favourite ways to get inspiration. This is the kind of thing I wear most days as it's based on my love of maxi's and mustard (the colour - not the sauce, although I don't mind a little Dijon on my hot dog. I don't go for the Mild American, because I'm not sure that concept actually exists, let alone that it could be a food source. Sauce).

But, I digress... I am in love with oversized everything at the moment, I don't know if it's just something that happens as you get older or if it's just that I've found the style that makes life easier. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm going to start wearing MuuMuu's or wearing clothes purely for comfort, it's just that ponchos, capes, maxis and my boyfriend's jeans just have a certain effortless appeal about them.

Back to my outfit... I don't exactly know how my headphones would work under this cartwheel hat, I assume I would just wear them around my neck until I needed to listen to some tunes (I'm obsessed with The Rubens right now), which makes it clear that I'm heading to the recording studio or some kind of important music related situation. The gold on these Frends Headphones imply I'm serious about music and that I'm cool, like Drew Barrymore. Although she should have used my bad-hair-day-70's-hat-trick.

Anyways, all that I'm trying to say is that the 70's are back and I'm happy about that.
Also, that I like the colour mustard, maxis, and good headphones that cover the whole music and style mash up that is my life.

The end.

E-Gypsy-An by mojomade   with   Topshop blazer   &   House of Harlow 1960 hoop earrings

Man, I've been having some wigged-out dreams lately. Last night I was Elvis' girlfriend whilst he was here on tour. Yep, just Elvis touring in Sydney. In 2013. And he was the hot 1968 come-back-special Elvis, you dig? Eh, EH? Ok, OK, that's the total Elvis groupie in me speaking out. He told me that he loved me and I could be his Sydney girlfriend because he had lots of girlfriends all over the world, before he got on the Eastern Suburbs line train to the airport - where it was unclear if he was catching an economy Virgin Atlantic flight or if he had a private jet. I really thought that in this day and age, Elvis Presley would have a private jet, but it seemed weird that he was catching a train with everyone else. So then I figured that since the music industry is where it is these days, they just needed to tighten the belt.

Anyways, I also dreamed that I went back to school to study Ancient Egypt - that's probably because I watched something on Foxtel about the Pharaohs before going to sleep. And that I ate cheese.

So, between the lovin' from Elvis and the Pharaohs of Egypt, I dreamt up this outfit via Polyvore. It's all Gypsy-meets-Hipster-meets-Egyptian glamour. The key is the hat (I am looking feverishly for this hat, where oh WHERE are you?!) and the over-sized Topshop boyfriend blazer. MUST HAVE.

Now I have a rather large amount of DIY's to tackle over the weekend, so I'm off to prepare...
Rock the weekend peeps x

Make a Run For it

S
Rushcutters Bay, Sydney

The past few days in Sydney have been basking in some of the most glorious weather we've had this year. My little "home office" looks over Rushcutters Bay Park, so whenever that sun is out to play I always feel the need to take advantage of the incredible spot that I live in. And Memphis is always ready to go for a run.

I'm going through another "orange phase" at the moment - and I'm dying for a pair of these Nike lightweights. I had the best pair of runner's last year that I stupidly took to LA (yeah right, like I was ever gonna go for a run in Hollywood) and consequently left them in the hotel room. Now I have a shitty pair because I can't justify spending what I could spend on a new winter coat on another pair of Nikes. So until next summer, I will just have to keep the dream alive with Polyvore.

Work Out in Style

Mink Pink elastic waist shorts to keep the sparkle alive, H&M racerback sports bra,  UNIF tank because it's awesome, NIKE lightweight shoes / Ray-Ban folding sunglasses so that after your run when you're blowing it out at the coffee shop, you can shove them in the tiniest of pockets.

Lace Bralette & Necklace @ General Pants

The worst thing you can do when you're living out of a suitcase is spend time on Polyvore.
But now I'm inspired to cut up a little lace dress I bought with me and make something new for my EP launch tonight. I'll let you know how that goes - haha.

And on that note... Check it out - I'm on iTunes!
Now you guys can hear what I've been singing about :)
